Montenegro Bay of Kotor Wedding

Friends, I’ve officially been bitten by the travel bug in a serious way. Because not only is this wedding stop-in-your-tracks pretty, but those Bay of Kotor views are straight from a postcard. To top it all off, this wedding photographer turned bride did all the event design herself (you read right!) and that stunning bouquet below? Just a little something she whipped up the morning of. Watch the day unfold with photos by Joseba Sandoval in THE VAULT.

From The Bride… We met each other when studied in the same university, it was such a long time ago so it seems like we were together all our lives! Last August, when we celebrated our 10th anniversary in Paris, Nikita proposed. It was absolutely unexpected and unforgettable!

We’ve felt like a family for a long time already so our wedding was just a beautiful celebration of our love; an opportunity to gather our closest people together. As I’m a wedding photographer, I knew all about wedding planning and decor and we decided to make everything ourselves. We live in Montenegro currently so there wasn’t a question where to celebrate. We are very happy to live in such a beautiful place, and to be able to enjoy fantastic views of the bay and mountains every day. So, I couldn’t resist to use it as an illustration for our invitations. We also found a cozy little villa on the seaside with the same beautiful view to host our event.

All our guests helped make that day wonderful! On the night before our wedding, girls were helping with flowers, and the boys were helping with the lights. It added a special warm mood to our celebration and we are so grateful for all their help and support! I can’t imagine what we would do without the huge floral help of our friend, Karina.

To be honest, I was a little bit of a crazy bride. I wanted to control everything! And we were really nervous about the weather forecast, but on the wedding morning I was able to relax. I just started that day making my bouquet and although it was raining, but I didn’t care. After a couple of hours it gave way to sunshine and the weather stayed lovely the rest of the day.

It was very interesting to be on the other side of the camera, and I really liked it! Thank you so much to our dream team – Joseba and Mar Sandoval- for helping us to relax and feel so comfortable! They captured these important moments in such beautiful way!

Fremont Diner Engagement Session

I’m all about planning an engagement session that feels totally unique to your story. And for this couple that looked like a pit stop at their favorite little diner for a slice of plum pie. They took along This Love Of Yours Photography to snap up the cuteness, and the gallery is every bit as sweet as it sounds. Keep the engagement inspo rolling in THE VAULT.

From This Love Of Yours PhotographyClara and Patrick love the Fremont Diner. They discovered the iconic restaurant together while wine tasting and would frequently make the trek from South Bay to Sonoma just to enjoy the diner’s downhome cooking- especially their country fried chicken and homemade pies! It was a fun afternoon sampling the best that the diner has to offer (we definitely recommend the plum pie) all while hanging out with and photographing a super lovable couple.

Fall Honey Wedding Inspiration

We’re always on the hunt for eye-catching color combos. Ones that break the mold and bring new life to the blooms, decor and details that are the anatomy of a wedding. Ones like this, dreamt up by Posies Florals and Daniel Kim Photography, where the versatile facets of honey shine in yellow, peach, amber and burgundy. Paired with a handsome splashes of navy, every bit of this hue happiness lives right here in THE VAULT.

From Posies Florals… Honey is so versatile and is unique to its location in both flavor and color. It can be deep shades of amber, or rich and golden, it can be creamy in texture, or smooth as silk. Honey was our inspiration for this shoot. We wanted to show case Raw Local Honey. Its color lends itself to the deep fall warmth.

We worked closely with a real local bee keeper, H and H Honey, who provided us with honey from all his different hives that were located in different parts of the city. This allowed each type of honey to be different, we really wanted to play off all the shades of the honey. As we focused on the honey, other aspects of this editorial came alive.

We wanted the overall feel of this shoot to be delicate, and warm. We didn’t want a fully styled table, so we chose a more intimate picnic set up. We chose fruits that were in season, cheese, and delicious artisan breads all styled on a large wooden cutting board.

Bella Lilie Bridal supplied us with such a gorgeous gown designed by Love Marley. The Gown lend itself to the warm sun, and deep texture of the ferns. It was graceful, and perfect for a fall wedding. Charity Maurer and her husband were our models. They are deeply in love and were able to give us true emotion while they were being photographed. Daniel Kim captured everything so perfectly. He is a genius with lighting, and movement. He was able to bring the glow of the sun into each of the photos.

Handmade Bohemian Ranch Wedding: Rikki + Justin

Mexi Boho Wedding

Rikki + Justin basically grew up together, but started dating + fell in love six years ago. Their wedding, which was held at Rikki’s family ranch estate, was a true community affair, with almost everything imaginable being DIY. What wasn’t thought up by Rikki + her family was brought in by her + Justin’s talented team of wedding creatives. And pulling together their ideal team was easy. As soon as the two were engaged, Rikki knew she had to have three very important vendors on board: Allie Lindsey PhotographyLavenders Flowers + 10.11 Makeup. (A major fringe benefit to her being in the industry herself, as co-owner of the rental company, Renewd Furniture.)
